The refurbishment of Kings Cross station was completed on the previous day to my arrival in the capital. I was fortunate enough to travel down to see Fleetwood Mac at the O2 arena, with my family, but it gave me a chance to return to London and notice the splendid difference and transformation that has taken place at Kings Cross. Now the station for the East Coast Mainline marvels in its own right, compared to St. Pancras next door, and Paddington as well as other stations on the network. Indeed the legacy of neglect that these engineering materpieces have suffered is now thankfully being reversed.

Photos on the return journey show the station in its new magnificance. The light from ourside during the day now filters through, while station lights eluminate the station and shine down onto the refurbished station and show its detail. For this station to have a royal title might have seemed irronic before, but now this station is certainly fit for a king.
