News was that 47703 which for a while under the previous Fragonset banner had been Hermes was to have its last run on the Wendsleydale Railway prior to being sent back to Barrow Hill for inspection or scrapped. Many people came out to see the veteran class 47 which had become a Wendsleydale stelwart in recent months and years, developing the lines potential and increasing locomotive use. Whether they remembered it as its Fragonset image, or more likely its former Scotrail identity of St. Mungo, the train was well patronised.
Pictures here show its last run, that was deemed to be it, but thankfully its been given a saving grace and remains on the line to this day.
