Being on the Scarborough Spa Express is a lovely ride but for the money it costs, its quite a bargin. More so when the engine 'up front' is none other than the Lord Protector himself, 70013 Oliver Cromwell, from the stable of the NRM no less.

The engine is indeed a fantastic machine and made short work of the formation that WCRC had assisgned to it for the run around the Harrogate Loop and then onto the seaside resort.

Having been on the train before, I elected to give chase by car, along the line to Scarbourgh to photograph the train in the countryside. With the train often beating me to places well in advance. Catching up allowed some photographs around the station at Scarbrough before again getting underway back towards York. A brilliant day, with hopefully, some pictures you will find brilliant.
