The Hadrian tour was one that was to take in the gorgeous Tyne Valley after a sprint north along the ECML. Plans were thrown into chaos following a signalling failure at Durham and to speed matters up the class 67 was left attached with the A4 tucked inside to come off at Tyne Yard. This plan worked with the 67 off and left the A4 free to move onwards for Carlisle. Here, having been serviced the train was then ran to Hellifeld where the A4 left and the 67 returned. Then it was a run to York and then again back to Darlington for home.
