A range of different engines at the 2009 Gala featuing Furness 20 which had arrived to use the musuem as a base, and Planet which was dubbed Sunbeam by the team managing that loco. Also present was Bowes Railway tank engine No. 22.

However, things changed when 70013 Oliver Cromwell arrived during the evening of Saturday following a railtour. The Brit, recently returned to steam looked very impressive amongst the varied engines this year.
